New games
Nothing will bode anything creepy at the very start. You’ll find yourself in a cartoonish kitchen, with a fridge, stove, blender and a table with Mr Tomato himself floating over it. Right now, he looks like a rather cheerful guy, and his request to feed him doesn’t seem out of place – after all, the guy has no hands and can’t cook anything for himself. But as you begin to chop and mince the ingredients, fry and stir them, bake and poke them to find out if they are ready, Mr Tomato will be growing more and more impatient. He doesn’t like waiting for his meal for too long. Even less he likes being offered something that doesn’t fit his taste. Which is rather tricky! He doesn’t have any favorite dishes in particular – only a mood that changes so frequently that you can’t seem to catch up with it.
You’ll instantly see when Mr Tomato is angry because his face will start charing towards a grimmer and scarier version. So will the kitchen – you will notice that the lights are going dimmer and the colors darker, and it’s generally not so cozy anymore, but rather creeps you out with its very appearance. You can also check out your character’s anger meter – when it reaches ten, Mr Tomato will attack you.
What can you do if that happens and is there any way to deal with this evil creature? Actually, there is. As you progress through the levels, you’ll be earning points. To pass one, you have to reach a certain number of them which is displayed at the top of the screen. Points can also be spent on various items in the store – aside from buying all kinds of ingredients and kitchen equipment there, you can also purchase some kind of a weapon that you can use against your opponent. For instance, a knife. Stabbing Mr Tomato with it will save you from a grim death. But that will also mean that the game is over and you will have to start the level from scratch. Start playing Mr Tomato right now and see if you can pass the whole game!
